The Gearagh

An installation created to mark the Spring Equinox in March 2026 in The Gearagh, Cork. An exceptionally rare and ancient post-glacial alluvial oak forest, partially felled and flooded in the 1950s to facilitate the construction of a hydroelectric scheme. The Equinox is a magical time when day and night are equal and the balance tips towards the light half of the year.
